Over one year ago, Land Rover New Zealand sold 20 special edition Sir Edmund Hillary Discovery vehicles and donated the proceeds to the Himalayan Trust, the foundation founded by Sir Edmund Hillary.

It was our hope that through this partnership we could support the work begun by Sir Edmund Hillary, whilst the customers of this special edition fleet could go off and have their own ‘Sir Ed’ worthy adventures.

It’s our absolute pleasure to share that the proceeds from this special edition fleet has successfully funded the build of a new water filtration system project in Bupsa, Nepal, providing clean access to drinking water for more than 500 community members.

The people of Bupsa now have access to pure drinking water, water for hand-washing and general hygiene (especially needed now due to COVID-19), fire hydrants and flush toilets. The water will also be used for growing food in the dry season and supporting livelihoods via tourism when visitors return to the region.
